Okay maybe there was a "less weird" this could be, and in Sam's experience there was always a whole lot more weird something could be, but this was... really, really weird. Like, did he respectfully disengage, for both their sakes? Or did he in some weird cosmic way owe her some kind of, he didn't know, closure for the unpleasant reunion?
