TEST DRIVE #15 - Holodeck and Ten Forward

001: Where were you a minute ago? Well, you aren't there anymore. Instead, you're standing in a very large, dark room lined with yellow. There are doors at either end of it.

Here's where things get a little choose your own adventure-y. You could:

1: Approach a console filled with buttons, located a few feet away. Press one, and it'll let you out of the room. Travel down a long hallway and you'll be in Ten Forward, the Enterprises' entertainment lounge. Have a drink, mingle and try to figure out why you're here.

OR

2: Maybe you just muttered some vague request under your breath. Maybe you wished aloud you were somewhere else. Or for help? If you did, might be in a fire station. Muttered something about killing whoever dumped you here? Surprise - you're in a slasher movie!

Though they're confusing, these visions feel about as real as they can be. And guess what - other people can experience those fantasies with you, as if they too were really there. How ever will you escape? Or do you want to?

[OOC: Welcome to the Holodeck! If you choose this option, whatever your character chooses to say out loud will cause a virtual reality program to load and play. While your character feels as if what they're experiencing and seeing is quite real, they're purely living through the latest and best in what he Enterprise has to offer in entertainment. Make sure to detail what your character's fantasy is, so that those threading with them will know how to react.

She winced a little.

"Okay, still in the past for you. That would've been, what, 2006?" she asked. Piper gathered her bearings and gave an embarrassed chuckle. "I'm actually from 2008. So..."

"2004.Phoebe's from 2002. She still thinks we just finished rescuing you from the Valkyries." Which meant she didn't know about Chris and he was kind of dancing around it until she busted him again.

"The Book came over with me, well, a future version of the book. I gave it to Phoebe...and tried to mark the pages she shouldn't look at with stickies. I know! I know, but I wasn't sure what else to do. And I was pretty sure you'd blow me up if I took a sharpie to the our family heritage. "

Ugh, this was too hard. It's so much easier when it was just him who time traveled and not everyone else.

"Well, it wouldn't be the first time the book's been sharpie'd." Before he could ask, she barrelled on. "All right, so everyone's from...before when I came from. What next, Grams is gonna show up? And what makes you so sure Phoebe isn't gonna peek? She's always been the one to find the Christmas presents first when we were kids."

Chris put a hand to his forehead. " I know. She's going to peak. I just wasn't sure a way around it. I couldn't keep the book. What if she found out and asked me why I hadn't given it to her? Besides, she doesn't need to peak to find out future events or spells."

Chris grinned. He'd love to see Grams again. Or maybe Grandpa.

"But now that you're here, we could just give the book to you. You know more about future events than any of us. Well, the real future I guess."

"I would not say that I am keeping something from everyone, just something from most everyone." After all, Zoey was aware of what was bothering her, of her sleep issues. It was difficult to hide those things from not only one's girlfriend, but also one's roommate. Her body language changed, allowing her posture to sag a bit, letting Myka see she wasn't going to hide things from her. After all, she didn't know what point in time Myka had come from.

"Nevertheless, being on a starship in deep space without proper sun and divide between day and night is wreaking havoc on my sleep-wake cycle. Though those issues also had begun before I arrived here." Really, it had all started on the Egime, being confined to a ship that had no windows and weeks could pass between dockings. The Enterprise at least had windows, and it had a lot more room and more things to occupy her. But her sleep was being effected, and it was almost to the point where she'd consider going to a doctor.

Which was Helena speak for she should have gone to the doctor weeks earlier.

Paige pulled back, giving Chris a stern look before smacking him hard on the arm. "You totally deserved that for scaring the crap out of me, and turning your father into a physchotic avatar. She took a deep breath, calming down and centering herself. "Leo saved Wyatt but lost you, so I wouldn't call that a win.... exactly."

Paige rolled her eyes. The Again was applied. "Life was supposed to return to Normal after the world almost ending."

Jackal gave him that much more penetrating a stare, apparently finding that reply just a bit on the imperious side... but just shook her head and started walking.

"...tch. This way. You have a name, kid?"

Myka couldn't help but laugh out loud at Pete. She smiled, running towards him and throwing herself in his arms, her lips missing his lips, but catching the edge of his mouth.

"Pretty cool huh? I didn't think you would be here."

She watches her for a minute, curiosity mirrored in her own eyes, and then decides to try a different method with this one. Humour softening, she gets up and moves a little closer with more sympathy on her face.

"Uh, yeah, you're on a spaceship," she says, hurrying to add: "but don't worry, everyone's actually pretty friendly. Even the mad ones."

She shakes her head, glancing about the room as if the answer to her question should be obvious.

"It's a fully-functional pub, Miss," she says, nodding over her shoulder. "C'mon, I'll show you. My name's Amy."

Space wasn't new to Laguna. He helped launch a Sorceress into space not so long ago. At least, he thought he did. His head hurt from the returning memories, his usual sunny disposition a bit pained as he sat down at a nearby table, nursing a drink as he tried to figure out just what happened. He and his friends had decided to go on a suicide mission to stop the manikins from resurfacing ever again during the Conflict. They succeeded, both in the mission and the suicide part. There was an odd feeling of peace as he had finally collapsed alongside his comrades, unsure if this meant he would be sent home or if he was going to be dead for good.

He had been a bit unconscious to know and then, he woke up on a spaceship. His memories were returning and it wasn't the ship, Ragnorak. Oh, and his wounds weren't there anymore. Last he checked, he had been out of cure spells. He groaned softly and scrubbed his face. "This doesn't seem at all fair."

"Ow!"Chris rubbed his arm. His aunt had a mean right hook. "Okay, I didn't catch that last part but I'm guessing Dad didn't take my death well. But it was my birthday, right? So, everything turned out okay. Kind of. " Again, so nice of you to tell everyone that it was your birthday Chris. Secrets are not good.

"And I think life will return to normal again. It's just that whoever got us has more pull than the Elders. Or the Avatars. The way I see it, we deal with problems here as best we can and prepare. And when we actually get a glimpse of this guy, we'll be ready."

"I'm trying not to spoil it for you. Could be different. You never know. Anyway, get me to Phoebe so I can get the book away from her and ease up on the future knowledge on everyone."

And she wouldn't blow him up. Just freeze him. And leave him there for five minutes.

She was certainly a handful.

"Merlin," he replied as he walked beside her. "Of Camelot."

This was not right. What the hell was going on?

"Phoebe! What the hell did you do?!" Because of course it was Phoebe's doing. She'd been the one going to check the Book of Shadows while Prue and Piper had tried to explain things to the good doctor. She glanced around, taking in the lounge. "Okaaay, this is new." Because whatever had happened, clearly a spell was responsible. And suddenly she found herself in some weird science fiction type place.

"Piper? Phoebe?" She asked as she started looking around. Of course the first thing she thought upon seeing some of the very not-human-looking people was that it seemed like this was some sort of sci-fi convention or something. It wasn't anywhere near Halloween, so she didn't think of that.

However, as she made her way through the people, she thought she spotted a brunette that was familiar. All too familiar. And familiar was a very good thing right now. Of course, Prue had no idea what her presence may mean to her sister considering she had no idea of what had happened regarding Shax. So to her, she was just finding her sister in a really weird place.

And Phoebe was so getting the blame for this.

"Piper! Why are we suddenly in a sci-fi convention?" She approached Piper, eyeing some alien-looking person as she went by them. "Phoebe is so getting yelled at for this."

Paige gave him her 'well duh' look. She stepped back, putting her hands on her hips. "He tried to blow up the attic, and then he started killing Elders," She said quietly, a shiver running through her.

"It wasn't pretty. How are you sure that we can actually leave?"

As soon as she heard that voice call for her, Piper froze in her tracks. From what Chris had explained to her, there was very possibly a way for Prue to be where she was too.

That didn't stop her from paling at the sight of her older sister, alive and breathing and looking like she's going to give Phoebe an earful.

"Prue," she breathed.

She didn't answer any of Prue's questions, just hugged the woman tightly to her, not realizing just how much she'd missed her. Everything they had fought, had gone through, she always had Prue in mind. She kept her tears in check because, it's likely that Prue came from before and wouldn't...

"I'm afraid Phoebe's not actually to be blamed for this one."

Paige looked at him strangely for a second. "You think being in space is boring? What do you do back home?" She asked. She smiled, and stuck out her hand.

"I'm Paige by the way."

"Wait he started killing Elders? Why? They didn't do this." He put his hands on his face, groaning. "This is so screwed up. But leaving, you had a question about leaving. Some people have gone and come back. Some have just gone. I'm choosing to believe their not dead since this guy doesn't seem overly hostile."

Paige laughed as she looked at him, and then back again. "You know me well. I'm Paige."

And then Piper was hugging her. Not precisely unexpected, but not what she expected the reaction to be. There was some confusion happening on Prue's end, but hey, she'd roll with it and hugged her sister back. The tightness of the hug was a bit strange, but she wasn't going to inquire about the reason for it. It was probably just the fact that Piper had been in this place for a while without her.

That's what Prue was going to keep telling herself because it made the most sense to her.

"So a warlock then? Or a demon?" Because those were the logical choices after ruling out Phoebe. Piper wasn't getting the blame considering she'd been standing right next to her moments earlier. "And where exactly are we?" If this wasn't a sci-fi convention of some sort, then clearly some sort of time travel had been involved. Though she had a feeling she wasn't going to be prepared for the answer.

Paige sighed softly, and really wished that Leo were here right now. He could explain this so much better. "Gideon was an Elder," She pointed out quietly. "He felt betrayed, and frankly I don't blame him honestly. I was there Chris... it was horrible."

"Uh, something definitely upper level."

Piper let go of her and wiped under her eyes to be sure that her make up wasn't running and that there was no sign of crying.

"I haven't seen who it was that took people just yet but um..what...when was it that you came from? What's the date?"

God, this was weirder than when she used Coop's ring.

"I know Gideon was an Elder but it's not like it was sanctioned. " Chris paled. "Was it? Was this whole thing just a trick?" Chris is starting to understand the way Leo felt. Betrayed, unsure who to trust.

"It wasn't supposed to be like that."

Trying to hide the signs of crying or not, Prue could tell something was wrong. Or at the very least different. For one, Piper was wearing different clothes than she just had been, though that only pointed to her having been in this place for an amount of time. But for another, something seemed different about Piper. She seemed...older.

"May 17th, 2001. Why?" And cue Prue starting to get suspicious. "What does the date have to do with anything?"

The fact they could be from different points in time wasn't first on her mind of the possibilities here. There were other possibilities to consider first before going to that point. At least in Prue's mind there were. They'd time traveled before, both forwards and backwards, so this was still in that realm of possibilities.

Piper gave a small chuckle. 2001. How could she forget the day she was talking about?

"You're gonna find this really funny," she started. "Um, I'm from June 16, 2006."

Just putting that one out there. For Prue to digest. Which meant, she as probably older than Prue from when she came. That was going to be weird.

"So kind of from your future and older than you are. Wow, never thought I'd get to say that."
