TEST DRIVE #15 - Holodeck and Ten Forward

001: Where were you a minute ago? Well, you aren't there anymore. Instead, you're standing in a very large, dark room lined with yellow. There are doors at either end of it.
Here's where things get a little choose your own adventure-y. You could:

1: Approach a console filled with buttons, located a few feet away. Press one, and it'll let you out of the room. Travel down a long hallway and you'll be in Ten Forward, the Enterprises' entertainment lounge. Have a drink, mingle and try to figure out why you're here.
OR
2: Maybe you just muttered some vague request under your breath. Maybe you wished aloud you were somewhere else. Or for help? If you did, might be in a fire station. Muttered something about killing whoever dumped you here? Surprise - you're in a slasher movie!
Though they're confusing, these visions feel about as real as they can be. And guess what - other people can experience those fantasies with you, as if they too were really there. How ever will you escape? Or do you want to?
[OOC: Welcome to the Holodeck! If you choose this option, whatever your character chooses to say out loud will cause a virtual reality program to load and play. While your character feels as if what they're experiencing and seeing is quite real, they're purely living through the latest and best in what he Enterprise has to offer in entertainment. Make sure to detail what your character's fantasy is, so that those threading with them will know how to react.
Open til next month's test drive!]
Dara McCallum | OC
His bright red hair and bright green eyes might be familiar to anyone who knows the other McCallums who have popped into the spaceship, but he's perhaps slightly less reckless than they are.
Re: Dara McCallum | OC
Because no one else has that color hair on board.
Who else would?

He knows this man.
Younger than the last time he saw him. Much younger. The only time he saw him like this was in photographs.
And that was ages and ages ago. Almost twenty years ago.
He opened his mouth and then shut it again... before saying in a barely heard voice, "Uncle Dara?"
no subject
Because the only way he was going to meet a grown-up nephew at his age was if they engaged in some serious time shenanigans.
no subject
Though as Talia is the most likely the only one who could do that to Dara, it's possible he might guess.
"But... no... Faerie's got nothing to do with it. This... what happened. Um. I think I need to sit down..."
no subject
"No. No sitting down, not until you buy your uncle a drink or whatever passes for one around here." Dara wrapped his hand around Kale's upper arm firmly. "Come on, you've got explaining to do."
no subject
Because Dara is a family member, and this is what you did to family, Kale neglects to mention that there's nothing alcoholic readily available.

He lets himself get pushed for about half a foot before wrenching free and giving him a bit of a glare. It's a good nature one that is typically tossed between family members of any stripe.
But for all his flippancy it's so weird seeing his uncle younger than him. Kale thinks he might even be slightly taller. Considering the last time he saw Dara the man could easily pick him up and hold him upside down by one foot it was very disconcerting.

Nineteen though. That meant his mum was just about to meet his father or possibly just met his father. Though from the sound of it, it sounds like hasn't met his father yet.
no subject
Which was good, in Dara's opinions, because they've all been total scrubs.

Re: Dara McCallum | OC
As it is, this angel is also on his way into Ten Forward when he passes the guy with red hair - quite like Kale McCallum's - who seems to be warily assessing the lounge. "S'okay." He says by way of greeting. "Most of them don't bite. So far."

"You just got here, huh? There's a good number of us in the same boat. No pun intended."

Because tact and diplomacy are totally his forte.

"But the drink sounds amazing. Bring it on."
no subject
He heads towards the bar. "What's your poison?"
no subject
no subject
"Fucking outer space." He responds cheerfully. "It's not as bad as it looks though. We're on a starship.. it's a little dated, but for its time, its brand new and uber-efficient. Come on over to the uh.. I don't even know if they're called windows on a starship. Viewports?"

"You're from Earth." He assesses, recalling Kale's annoyance at the word 'Ireland'. "From Eire?"
no subject
"Yeah, that's right. It's the accent, huh?"
