TEST DRIVE #15 - Holodeck and Ten Forward

001: Where were you a minute ago? Well, you aren't there anymore. Instead, you're standing in a very large, dark room lined with yellow. There are doors at either end of it.
Here's where things get a little choose your own adventure-y. You could:

1: Approach a console filled with buttons, located a few feet away. Press one, and it'll let you out of the room. Travel down a long hallway and you'll be in Ten Forward, the Enterprises' entertainment lounge. Have a drink, mingle and try to figure out why you're here.
OR
2: Maybe you just muttered some vague request under your breath. Maybe you wished aloud you were somewhere else. Or for help? If you did, might be in a fire station. Muttered something about killing whoever dumped you here? Surprise - you're in a slasher movie!
Though they're confusing, these visions feel about as real as they can be. And guess what - other people can experience those fantasies with you, as if they too were really there. How ever will you escape? Or do you want to?
[OOC: Welcome to the Holodeck! If you choose this option, whatever your character chooses to say out loud will cause a virtual reality program to load and play. While your character feels as if what they're experiencing and seeing is quite real, they're purely living through the latest and best in what he Enterprise has to offer in entertainment. Make sure to detail what your character's fantasy is, so that those threading with them will know how to react.

Roy Harper | Arrow (Post-Season 3) | Ten Forward
Roy had bene talking to himself as he wandered the halls, until, that is, he walked into Ten Forward. His mouth opened, then closed, and he swallowed. Roy stared at the window with all the stars, and then at the aliens in the lounge around him, and then at the window.
Finally, he stalked up to the bar, barely keeping from freaking even more the fuck out than he already was, and ordered a beer, politely, from someone or something that had two chins, four eyes, and was purple. he downed the(surprisingly good) beer, and then looked around again.
"Yep. I am totally dead."
A pause.
"Thea is going to kill me."
Re: Roy Harper | Arrow (Post-Season 3) | Ten Forward
"What happened to that ex-con that faced the big bad Oliver Queen?"
no subject
"HIm? Oh, well, he was a jerk, and he got voted off the island."
OOC: omg ROY! I didn't see it when he tagged in, I hope you'll accept a new tag?
He wasn't trying to eavesdrop, he just happens to have exceptional hearing. Don't blame the supersoldier.
He glances up at Roy through his lashes, a smirk half-cocked on his face. He had been working pretty intently at a doodle of the bartender that just gave Roy a mild cardiac event, and his fingers are still grasping the pencil, nails stained with charcoal.
no worries!
He looked around again, then squinted mournfully. "Maybe."
Roy looked down at the drawing, then back up at the bartender, then down again, then up again. "I'll have whatever he is having, please."
:D :D :D
"Don't worry, you're still alive," he says, rubbing the back of his neck. He gives Roy a second, nodding at the bartender to confirm two more glasses of beer for the table, and then invites the kid to join him. There's something about him that reminds Steve of that other kid, Parker. "I know this place comes out of nowhere, but the people here are friendly for the most part. I'm Steve Rogers, former US army."
He wipes his hand and holds it out to Roy, though some smudges remain.
<3
Roy turned a chair around, and straddled it backward, smiling. "So what the heck is happening, here?" He paused. "It is the League of assassins? Or Damian Darhk?" Two many mystic supervillains, damn it.
Roy met his hand, and shook his hand warmly. "You have a good hand." The callouses and the drawing both show skill.
no subject
But he lets Roy get settled in before he starts on the explanation. He frowns at Roy's follow-up questions, not able to place the name Damian Darhk or the League of Assassins, but he's been with S.H.I.E.L.D. for enough years now that the title automatically pings 'supervillain organization' without needing further explanation. He makes a note to ask Roy more about both later, as his expression is already melting from serious into amused when he draws his hand back. There's a self-deprecating little nod to the sketchbook before he responds.
"Thanks, they serve me pretty well both on and off duty," he says. "The drawing's more a hobby these days. I can't say I know who the League of Assassins are, or this Damian Darhk guy. The person you're looking for goes by the name Q, and if you haven't started traveling off your own planet yet, this is where it gets complicated. Q is an alien. A pretty powerful alien, from a race called -- and get this -- 'The Q'. As I understand it, he and the captain of the ship you're now on have sort of a history of making each other's lives difficult."
no subject
"What do you do on duty?" Roy smiled as he canted his head to the side, and nodded to the sketchbook. "Not a bad hobby at all. Q, huh? Where does he live? And why is he creatively blocked? I mean, 'Q', really?"
Roy sighed. "Sounds like all too much fun. " He was already considering looking for a place to make a bow and arrows. Or jury rig them, if need be.
no subject
"You could say I work with a private contractor, on loan from the U.S. government," he says. Broaching S.H.I.E.L.D. always takes a little finesse -- admittedly not one of Steve's many talents. "It's an international agency committed to protecting the people of Earth. So if anybody like Q ever tries to take over, I'm one of the guys who's gonna stop him."
His lips twist into another smile. "'Q', really. No idea where he lives. I don't think it's on the same plane you and I do. He's made the Enterprise like a home, though. We're all here to amuse him, in one way or another. For the most part, he's not dangerous. Which I haven't figured out yet. He has the power to be, but instead he plays games with us. Whatever his move is, he's kept it hidden."
He leans back in his chair, giving Roy a careful once-over.
"What's your story?" he asks. 'League of Assassins', 'I've seen weirder', so far this kid talks like he's got more experience with this kind of thing than the average bagger at a grocery store. "I don't think I caught your name."
no subject
"Not the same plane?" Excuse Roy as he caught up to the crazy. "Is he immune to arrows?" I mean, had anyone ever actually shot him with one? Inquiring minds wanted to know... for no reason at all, really!
"Me? Just a kid from the streets who lives in a world where weird shit happens, a lot." Roy smirked. "I didn't throw it. But you can call me Roy."

"Are you sure we're not dead? Or maybe out cold? Because this is really starting to seem like the product of way too much vodka." His eyes crinkled with mischief. "Like that stuff you kept in the Arrow Cave."
no subject
Oliver chuckles. "So that's why my stash kept going down," he says amused, "and no not dead. Just on a ship called the Enterprise. Thea is here too, she'll be glad to see you Roy. Hell I'm glad to see you." Oliver is moving slowly because he is feeling a little unwell today, he is still struggling with food and it's been a few days since he's eaten more than a few mouthfuls.
no subject
"Enterprise... like that old show?" Roy was really feeling like he had stepped into twilight, especially when the man who had been his boss said Thea was here. "Thea too? Who collected us? And why?" His eyes slid around the room, then back to Oliver, and he frowned.
"You don't look so good."
no subject
"It's a being called Q a real asshole and yes this is the ship from that old show. Q likes bringing people here for reasons no one has figured out yet. And yeah Thea is here, she got here before Felicity and I did." He smiles slightly. "Not doing well at all. Ra's...messed me up." No more lying about how he's doing that's the deal he made even though it hurts to be seen as weak by his friend and trainee.
no subject
"Felicity's here too? Did Dig make it yet?" Because if the rest were there, Dig and Laurel were sure to follow. Those two couldn't stop themselves.
Roy winced, then nodded. "What can I do?" Sure, he is used to being independent now, but if Oliver needed him? Well, he would be there in a heartbeat. Oliver had changed his life in ways Roy would never be able to thanks him for. Except one way; never walking away if the man needed him.
...A flash of memory, as Roy stared into Oliver's eyes, right after a fight on the street. "Don't abandon me." The words had come out desperate and afraid.
The answer was there fast and sure. "Never." And that moment had made Roy begin to change himself forever.
Roy nodded. "I've got your back."
no subject
"We need our friends right now," Oliver says softly, "Thea is doing about as well as I am and it's been a struggle to help her and try to help myself. Thea's barely sleeping. I barely eat. We just need to know it's okay to be the broken ones for a while Roy."

Re: Roy Harper | Arrow (Post-Season 3) | Ten Forward
(PM if you end up apping just to hash out Roy/Thea? She's last ten minutes of Broken Arrow so had just been stabbed and I would love for them to be BFF's since she's got a romantic line in the works.)

And he had no objections to a hug. In fact, he swept her up in one of his own, pulling her close and tight. "I've got you."

"Then we'll figure out how to make it right. Together.' He nodded at her. He would help her.
